You know something’s stuck, even if you can’t name it

Maybe you’ve spent years managing, analyzing, talking through what happened. You understand it, intellectually. But your body still braces. Your mind still loops back. The same patterns show up in relationships, in work, in how you treat yourself.

This is what unresolved trauma does. It doesn’t care how much insight you have. It lives in the parts of you that words can’t always reach.

I’ve you’ve tried traditional talk therapy and felt like you hit a wall, or if you’re exhausted from always being “fine” while feeling like you’re barely holding it together, you’re in the right place.

I work with people who need more than surface-level coping strategies, who want to trust themselves again without second-guessing every decision.

EMDR and IFS aren’t about retelling your story or white-knuckling through triggers. They’re about getting to the root, safely, at a pace that works for you, so the weight you’ve been carrying can finally lift.

You don’t have to keep proving you’re “traumatized enough” to deserve real support. You just have to be ready to stop running from what’s chasing you.

The truth is, nothing is wrong with you. Real healing happens from the inside out.

What becomes possible when the weight of trauma lifts…

  • You’ll have space in your own head again.

  • You’ll make decisions without your inner critic tearing apart every option before you’ve even chosen.

  • You’ll be able to set a boundary without rehearsing it twelve times or bracing for collapse.

  • You’ll stop replaying conversations on a loop, searching for proof that you said the wrong thing.

  • The relationships that matter to you will feel less like minefields and more like places you can actually show up.

  • Authenticity won’t feel dangerous.

This isn’t about becoming a different person.
It’s about coming back to yourself.

How therapy works

CONNECT

We start with a free 15-minute consultation. You'll tell me what brought you here, I'll ask a few questions, and we'll both get a sense of whether this feels like the right fit.

If we move forward, your first full session is about understanding what you're carrying and what you're hoping will shift. I'm here to listen for what's been stuck and help you figure out how we get it unstuck.

GROW

From there, we'll use EMDR and IFS to work with the parts of your experience that talk therapy hasn't been able to touch. EMDR helps your brain reprocess trauma so it stops firing like it's still happening. IFS helps you understand the parts of yourself that have been working overtime to protect you.

Some people need weekly 50-minute sessions. Others do better with 2-hour extended sessions or full-day intensives. We'll figure out what works for your nervous system, your schedule, and how your healing actually unfolds.

THRIVE

You're not on a conveyor belt here. If something doesn't feel right, we talk about it. If we need to slow down, we slow down. This is collaborative, not prescriptive.

The goal isn't to make you feel better for an hour. It's to help you stop carrying what was never yours to carry in the first place.

Hi, I’m Deb.

I became a therapist because I kept meeting people who were doing everything right and still couldn’t outrun what happened to them.

Smart, capable people who had read the books, done the journaling, tried the breathing exercises. People who could explain their trauma in detail but couldn’t stop their body from reacting like it was still under threat.

I wanted to understand why insight alone wasn’t enough. And I wanted to learn how to actually help people get unstuck, not just manage being stuck more gracefully.

I’m EMDRIA Certified and trained in Internal Family Systems because those modalities do what traditional talk therapy often can’t. They work with the parts of the brain and nervous system that store trauma below the level of conscious thought.

I work with people across Utah and Oklahoma via telehealth, and in-person in South Ogden, Utah. I’m in-network with most major insurers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and Select Health.

Before I became a therapist, I spent years in higher education. I know what it’s like to be the person holding it together on the outside while everything inside feels like it’s unraveling. I also know what it’s like to finally get the kind of help that actually works.

I value depth, honesty, and real conversations over surface-level reassurance. I do honest conversations, collaborative pacing, and trauma work that respects how hard this is while still believing you can get through it.

If you’re ready for a space where you feel understood more quickly, let’s talk.
